We are from Pullman, Washington, a small farm and college town in the pacific northwest, USA. When we were married, a word of prophecy was spoken about us finding a shared vision together. We didn’t know what that could be. For quite a few years now, we have both been working full time jobs and feeling like God was preparing something great for us to do, but didn’t know what it was. So we were waiting for our chance to make a difference and make an impact in this crazy world. A few months ago, we were inspired to check the mercy ships volunteer website to see if there were open positions that matched our skills – since neither of us are doctors this seemed like a long stretch and previously there had been none. What we found, however, was two urgent positions that were needed that are right up our alley – System Administrator (computer related) and a Training Facilitator (education related). So we prayed about it and applied, and waited for the door to open.
A few bible verses that inspire us:
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. – Matthew 9:35-36
